national pride
Environmental intervention
Along my daily commute to Oxford from Didcot, I couldn't ignore the extent of litter by the roadside. This 'green and pleasant land' a convenient place to dump rubbish from car, van and truck windows.
Everywhere I saw the Cross of St George brandishing a national pride I didn't recognise. In response, I conducted a series of public interventions where I painted the Cross of St George on road-side litter, flags that fluttered there for months.
In the same vein, I responded to the disgrace of dog fouling by inserting the Cross of St George into the islands of dog shit I came across everywhere. If you would like me to send you a pack of custom-made flags so that you too can join this campaign, please send me an email.
