A community-engagement project in Chippenham

Subject name
Koulla Efstratiou

Age
38

Where do you come from?
South Africa.

How long have you lived in England?
Nine years.

How long have you lived in Chippenham?
Eight years.

Where do your family live?
Cyprus, South Africa and England.

What is your occupation?
Pharmaceutical Scientist.

The living person I admire ...
my mom.

I admire her because ...
she has always taught me to be honest, kind and happy in my life.

If I could change one thing about myself ...
I would like to be more sporty.

Something that changed my life ...
I lost a very special friend in a car accident. Also, having my two daughters.

My happiest memory ...
was my wedding day and finding out I was pregnant with both my girls.

The last time I cried ...
was when my father passed away. Saying goodbye to my mom on our last holiday in Cyprus.

My favourite bit of Chippenham ...
is walking along the river Avon.

Chippenham would be the perfect place to live if ...
it was a seaside town.

These projects form the body of my work to date.

Our community is diverse and enriched by people from foreign cultures settling among us. The aim of Hidden Presence is to acknowledge the diversity of our community, and our similarities with people from all over the world.
