The book I'm reading currently
I’m reading Grayson Perry, Playing to the gallery. He did the Reith lectures on Radio 4 and it’s based on that, so when I’ve got a moment that’s what I’m reading. I definitely recommend the book, it is good. He is really intelligent but he does speak in a way that everyone understands.

A book that had a big impact on me
I’m almost quite embarrassed to say, I quite like books that are about other people suffering. One of my favourite books is a book called Fred and Rose: The Full Story of Fred and Rose West by Howard Sounes.

I know that’s really epic-awful to say it is a book that I loved. I think I found it interesting because it is so far removed from my life. I just can’t get into the mindset of somebody like those two people. Fascinating in a weird way, it’s written to try to understand why they did it, so an interesting point of view. It’s slightly different now that I have my own children.

My choice of lifetime magazine subscription
Crafts Magazine I already subscribe to them. All about contemporary craft.

My must-see film
The Green Mile or Pulp Fiction. I love Pulp Fiction, I think it’s really cleverly written, I think it’s a good script, humorous but black humour.

My guilty-pleasure telly
Something really lame like Waterloo Road, much to my husband’s disgust!

My radio turn-on and turn-off
I like anything on Radio 6. My radio turn off is any radio station that plays heavy bass music, anything too overly modern.

My favourite work of art
Probably something by Tracey Emin. She’s not my favourite artist now but when I was about 16 or 17, I was introduced to her work when I was a student and I just loved her work. I think anything by her because it’s really nostalgic for me.

The weekend paper I am most likely to pick up
If I get the chance, The Sunday Times, but then it might take me four days to read it.

The section of the weekend paper I read first
The culture section for the arts stuff. Everything’s so art orientated in my house, art and children!

A piece of music that makes me smile
Possibly David Bowie or Queen. I think I’m older than my own age with the stuff I like.

A piece of music that makes me cry
My wedding song, Kiss from a rose by Seal. It just always reminds me of my wedding day.
