Library residency

Contents celebrates Corsham's new library at Springfield Community Campus by giving an insight into the the people who use it.

For the first two weeks in December I interviewed people in the library about the books they choose to read and other cultural influences in their lives.

Participants let me know about the choices they make that shape their view of the world. A book that has changed them, their desert-island reading, a film they think the world should see, their guilty-pleasure telly watching, radio turn-ons and turn-offs, their choice of a lifetime magazine subscription, a favourite work of art, the weekend paper they're most likely pick up, a piece of music that makes them smile or cry. With their insights and a portrait photograph I produced a postcard to be inserted into one of the books they have talked about.

Contents postcards; connecting people through a shared book

The postcard will be in the book for the next reader to find. A way to connect with someone through a shared book.

new projects

These are projects and ideas that are currently in development.

folio projects

These projects form the body of my work to date.

Many thanks to my interviewees who were patient enough to answer my questions and allow me to take their photographs.

I hope they will enjoy each others short stories.
